Community Collaborations

Turnabout has been active in the life of Metro Denver since 1985. We understand that only working together as a community can we reverse the cycle of poverty, desperation and crime in our neighborhoods.

The relationships we have built with other community and faith-based organizations, employers, schools, and government agencies have been central to our success.

Turnabout has been a longtime active member of Denver’s Road Home Employment Subcommittee and in 2010 took a leadership role in starting a Finance Task Force to bring together financial lenders and Energy Efficiency/Renewable Energy contractors to stimulate demand and jobs for disadvantaged and homeless job seekers in this fast growing industry. We are members of Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES) and the Colorado Non-Profit Association.

Turnabout is currently working with a number of non-profits to develop and collaborate in providing future programming. We have recently been awarded a support services grant for Veterans Services through Fourth Quarter Partners, and also been awarded a grant from Denver Department of Human Services to provide services for soon to be released parolees in need of housing and support services. We have just completed a 5-year collaborative project with Empowerment Program and DenverWorks! to provide services and employment to former offenders. We have also been invited to provide education to Federal Probation officers, and host the Crime Prevention and Control Commission at our site. 

We have long-established relationships with nonprofits that provide food, clothing, medical, vision, bicycles and legal assistance. We refer clients needing housing and shelter to the numerous felon friendly landlords in our network, New Genesis, and Samaritan House. We also refer participants to Sobriety House, and Mile High TASC who provide recovery services.

We also have strategic partnerships with publicly funded institutions including Community College of Denver, Red Rocks Gateway Program, Pickens Technical College, Emily Griffith Opportunity School, and with private industry training providers to offer job training customized to the needs of our participants.
